In the beginning of the month, it was informed that Philips had plans to launch the low-end touchscreen X800, today we just had the reliable confirmation of the X800.
The touchscreen display is nice and big but only supports 256K colors. The real amazing is its connectivity. It has no WLAN, no 3G and no EDGE. This nice-looking handset features GPRS Class 10 data with a whopping ~ 48 kbps cap. It could be shock us of its lack of 3G, EDGE, and WiFi but we’re used to that. We also notice that a flash for the camera has been eliminated.
Specs wise, a 2.9-inch, 240×400 screen, only supports 256K colors touchscreen, and the phone’s browser is your basic WAP 2.0/xHTML. It does support Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, though, so that’s a plus. Other bits: it will allow for expansion via microSD, support MP3 ringtones, and packs a USB port
