Verizon Wireless announces the BlackBerry Curve 8330 and the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 smartphones in Pink. Previously, this smartphone had only come in a more business-like silver and black. The BlackBerry Pearl 8130 smartphone in pink is available for $79.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. This device includes the same multimedia capabilities as other recent BlackBerry models, as well as EV-DO high-speed Internet, and an internal GPS receiver with support for Verizon’s premium VZ Navigator mapping service. Both smartphones pretty much share the same hardware, including a 2 megapixel camera, 3G connectivity and 3.5mm headphone jacks. Verizon says that the new pretty-colored BlackBerry smarthpones are mainly targeted at college students, as the handsets can help them “make a statement and be more productive in the classroom when they head back to campus this fall.”The pink Curve 8330 is available now on Verizon’s website
