The release date rumors for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 (Bold 2) have been flowing in these past few days. Engadget is reporting that T-Mobile and AT&T will both be announcing the Bold 9700 on October 21st while BGR says T-Mobile will announce it on November 11th. It is expected that At&t and T-mobile will make their release dates official with the press release with an expected retail price of $299. In Canada on Rogers network, the BlackBerry Bold 9700 will be released on October 26th for $299 for new subscribers (or eligible upgrades).
The Bold 2 comes with a number of improvements over the original Bold: a trackpad instead of the trackball, a 3.2 MP camera and a screen capable of a 480×360 pixel resolution. This will mean the end for the exclusive deal AT&T had for the Bold in the US. We will have to wait until October 21st until we can fully confirm this rumor, however the date seems pretty likely.
