Samsung a137 bows for AT&T

The Samsung Web site recently provided some details about the A137. Samsung and AT&T are now fessing up to its existence by quietly posting product info pages on their respective sites without so much as a single press release from either Sammy or the carrier. The simple flip phone is so basic that it doesn’t even offer an external display. The feature set is centered squarely on making calls and messaging. That can be the reason of no single press reease yet. The very basic, entry-level flip phone has dual-band GSM/GPRS 850/1900 MHz radios, Bluetooth, a-GPS and a WAP browser, giving it access to MEdiaNet. It can play MP3s, and also has simple SMS, IM and email features. No camera, unfortunately. It has AT&T branding and lists some of AT&T’s branded services, such as MEdia.Net. Its dimensions are 3.46 x 1.76 x .78 inches and 2.86 ounces. It provides up to 5 hours hours of talk time and 250 hours of standby time. AT&T. It’ll only cost around $40, so if they throw in some free airtime, this can be a decent option. Flip-open pic after the jump. The SGH-A137 is the fifth new phone that Samsung has introduced this week
