Samsung has released their first official firmware (version IG2) for the Samsung i8910 HD. The biggest fix of all for most users is Samsung will replace the AMR audio codec (which plagued the 720p audio) with a much better AAC audio codec. There’s a slight complication, in that to get this firmware update you need to already have an Italian firmware loaded on the phone; this update will then be available through Samsung’s PC Suite. The new firmware seems to be available for certain product codes, but it shouldn’t take long before its available for the rest of the world. Don’t forget to backup your data before updating the your phone.
