The MetroPCS Samsung Spex is a candybar style phone basic. There’s not a lot of specs available, Samsung Spex using network dual-band CDMA plus 1700 MHz AWS, a 128 x 128 screen, text messaging.
The MetroPCS Samsung Spex SCH-r210 won’t be for those who want it all, but will work for those who only want to use the phone for talking. Obviously, since this handset is not feature-packed, it will come at a nice price – possibly even free on contract.
No word on release dates or prices, but we’ll likely hear more soon.
Obviously this handset is doomed for a shining spot on the near-free price schedule, though if you’re only looking for a handset that Grandma will appreciate, perhaps this’ll ring your bell
