Samsung has announced a new take on the Samsung Soul, the Samsung Soulb. Yes, Soulb is not a spelling mistake, but Samsung’s name for its slim candy-bar with a brushed pattern metallic body. Actually, its name is formed from Soul-bar(”soul bee”), as it is another phone in the Sprit of Ultra series, after the Soul U900, which we reviewed recently. It is a 0.38 inches (9.9mm) slim phone. The Samsung Soulb comes in five colours, Platinum Silver, Metallic Black, Soul Grey, Soul Pink and Amethyst Violet, obviously using its appearance as a key feature. However, Samsung also touts its characteristics, including 1GB of memory (plus microSD slot), a 3-megapixel camera with power LED for a solid photography option, and a new user interface, which we are guessing, will be similar to the Soul slider. Though not a smartphone, the Samsung Soulb does feature a built-in Office document viewer/editor and full HTML web browser. Again the Samsung Soulb follows the Soul in entertainment with FM radio with RDS, video recorder and editor, and music player embedded. Moreover it also includes Bluetooth 2.0. Samsung Soulb will be first available in Germany in early June, but after that will launch in the rest of Europe and other regions. As it is a tri-band GSM without 850 MHz, it is not a U.S.-friendly device.
