Samsung unveiled a new device last week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, namely a projector phone dubbed Samsung Show. Fresh off the plane from Korea comes the Samsung Show, a Korea-only projector phone that uses TI’s DLP technology rather than the Logic Bolt’s LCoS system to project images onto a big screen. Moreover, according to the news, one is a PMP called the MBP200, which features a TV tuner and supports various video files including DivX and Xvid. The other is a touchscreen smart phone with the horrific moniker ‘Anycall Show’. Both devices use the Texas Instruments compact projector technology.
Samsung Show is stated to offer five options for its projector including “File Viewer,†which allows movies to be displayed in a large-screen format, “Album,†enabling photo slideshows to be projected, or “Story Telling,†which can be used to display animated Korean children’s stories. A TV option is also present, as well as Flashlight, which is said to be nothing more than just a flashlight. Unfortunately not a lot is known about the Samsung Show other than it is a rather bulky candy-bar handset with support for Korea’s DMB-T digital TV system. More details on the Samsung Show will come out later this week.
