Sharp SH001 Releases 8 Megapixel Camera Phone

Sharp is due to release its SH001 handset in Japan for use on KDDI’s CDMA 1X WIN 3G network. Set to available through KDDi telecom from later this year, this clamshell phone is actually targeted at 20 – 30 year old females.  The device packs in a 8 Megapixel camera and has majority of functions you would expect from an entry level digital camera. Sharp has loaded it with ‘ProPix’ a proprietary picture conversion engine, auto focus and face recognition. As an additional features include 740MB of internal memory but equips a Micro SD card (up to 2GB supported), GPS with Easy Nabi walk, music download service, a mobile ASV WVGA screen, E-wallet, and a visual area of 3-inch 26 million colors, 480 x 854 pixel resolution of ASV LCD screen.

To make clearer conversations in busy area, a noise-canceling feature is built-in, along with a “Slow Talk” button will let users better understand callers by slowing down their speech. A cut function allows users to quickly take text that is over the character limit and transfer it to a new e-mail or text message. The SH001 will be made available in three colors white, pink and black later this year in Japan for 40,000 Yen ($ 450)
