Skype releases beta software mass-market handsets

Skype has just released an official mobile client that supports supporting over 50 handsets. Specific phone models aren’t listed, but the press release promised support for phones from Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson.

The new software reportedly allows for free Skype-to-Skype calls, cheap SMS, forward a call, or set up an online number for friends, family and colleagues, and allows you to utilize Skype-out for all of your landline needs.
