Slacker G2 On FCC

 Slacker G2 On FCC

The second version of the Slacker portable personalized radio player has appeared on the FCC site. Namely, Slacker G2 WiFi radio, it appears to have slimmed down from the original Slacker Portable while moving the skip and play/pause buttons to the front of a the device. As seen on the images, the player is roughly 3-inches tall and 2-inches wide, which is comparable  to the current player which is 4.2-inches tall and 2.76 inches wide. It can store 4GB of music, and has 802.11a/b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR, and FM receiver capabilities. The Slacker G2 portable player will be powered by a Broadcom BCM4325GKFBG chip and a 730mAH battery. As the past models, it also gives users the option of loading their own songs through USB in addition to either a free or paid subscription to Slacker’s Internet radio stations. No idea on when it will hit the market though, but it shouldn’t be too far away from the future.
