Sony has announced the pricing for its iMac-a-like Vaio JS desktops, and they hit Apple’s all-in-ones dead on. Advertised as powerful, stylish and ready for action – right out of the box. There are two models, one at $1100 and one at $1500, both featuring 20.1″ screens. The top of the line model prices out at $1,449 for a 20.1″ XBRITE-HiColor LCD, 4GB RAM, 500 GB HDD and Blu-ray Disc (playback only) along with Bluetooth.
The VAIO JS PC / display combo box will be available in two models as follows:
VAIO JS190 – $1499.99
Intel Core 2 Duo (3.0GHz, 6MB L2 Cache)
20.1″ XBRITE-HiColor LCD
Windows Vista Home Premium
4GB DDR2 RAM
500GB hard drive
Integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam
Integrated Blu-ray player
Integrated Bluetooth
VAIO JS130 – $1099.99
Intel Core 2 Duo (2.5GHz, 2MB L2 Cache)
20.1″ XBRITE-HiColor LCD
Windows Vista Home Premium
4GB DDR2 RAM
500GB hard drive
Integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam
Available in black, silver and pink
The big news is Blu-ray on the $1500 JS. It’s read only, but that fits squarely with Sony’s media center intentions for this slimline living room machine. Â Shipping commences early October, and at those price points, you can expect plenty of VAIO JS units to fly off the shelf
