Finally, Sony Ericsson has officially announced that it is all set to launch the XPERIA X1, a stand-out, arc slider phone from Sony Ericsson. Sony Ericsson, announces 30 September 2008 as the official launch date for the Xperia X1 - initially available to consumers in the UK, Germany and Sweden. The handset will be available in other markets across Europe, Asia and Latin America throughout Q4 2008. An official UK price hasn’t been given, but online retailer Expansys is currently taking orders for the phone from those willing to lay down a whopping £585 ($1000/€730).
For thirty-two other countries around the world (listed after the break), the X1 will launch in Q4. For North America, Australia, China, and Russia, Sony Ericsson is only willing to go so far as to suggest that announcements will be made in the coming months. To make the official launch on September 30 a little more special, Sony Ericsson will start a webcast countdown of the launch beginning on September 15. During the webcast Sony Ericsson will preview an in-depth demonstration of the XPERIA X1 and the first episode of the alternative reality thriller Johnny X.
