Sony Ericsson has made the G705 official, known as the Kumiko. The device is another of the cellphone maker’s 3.2-megapixel slider cameraphones. Sporting a 2.4in QVGA screen, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, aGPS and a 3.2MP camera with LED flash plus 3G cam for video calls, suggests this handset means big business in the upper midrange sector while the inclusion of an ‘HTML browser’ with uploading ability enhances its credentials even further. Sony Ericsson phones will brings an iPhone-like tilt sensor that auto-rotates to landscape view and will come with a couple of accessories, including the Bluetooth Car Kit HCB-108 and the Digital Photo Frame IDP-100. Some other features are Exchange ActiveSync for email, RSS reader, Google shortcut key for Google Maps, and YouTube viewing and direct upload. It gets “turbo 3G speeds,†thanks to a Tri-band HSDPA.  Either G705 supports AAC/MP3 audio playback, FM radio and assisted GPS; a 1GB Memory Stick Micro is bundled in the box. The G705 and G705u will hit sometime in Q4 with the latter exclusive to Orange. The European and Asian versions of the phone will be available in October, while we in America will have to wait for early 2009. No pricing details yet.
