Days before ‘The Championships’ at Wimbledon, Maria Sharapova served up an ace on the catwalk with the unveiling of the Sony Ericsson Maria Sharapova Design Collection. Maria Sharapova is no stranger to the world of consumer electronics. She endorsed plenty of Motorola products for some time, and was one of the first celebrities to own the now famous pink RAZR before anyone else did. Now the beautiful tennis star is switching teams, and working with Sony Ericsson as a global ambassador.
“Working on this collection was an opportunity that I could not turn down,” said Maria Sharapova at the unveiling. “Sony Ericsson helped me create a collection of mobile phone accessories that I know people will use. And I wanted to add my touch to each item. People want style, fashion and glamour, and with this collection I know that they’ll have it. I am looking forward to using the collection with my Sony Ericsson T303 which is equally as stylish and great to listen to music on when I exercise and when I like to relax after a match.”
This resulted in the Maria Sharapova Design Collection which includes four extremely cute bags: Courtside Case, Exercise Case, Party Bag, and Travel Wallet. The new design collection comes after Sony Ericsson and the famous tennis player have signed, back in January, a four-year contract according to which Maria became Sony Ericsson’s brand ambassador. The Sharapova-inspired accessories are expected to be launched in the third quarter of this year.
