The upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 will be launched on the O2 network in the UK this coming September. The announcement just came recently and brings another impressive smart phone to the list of Android devices available this year.

The X8 is an Android 1.6 powered smartphone that sports a compact 3-inch touchscreen display, HSDPA, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, and a 3.2-megapixel camera, digital compass, A-GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, 600 MHz processor, and MicroSD card support.

The X8 will ship with white and blue covers. The X8 might run Android 2.1 from the beginning, although SE said it could also come with 1.6, and be updated later.

Pricing hasn’t been announced, but considering that it tops out with a 3.2 megapixel camera and will go unsubsidized for €259.
