We knew the Pink Samsung Instinct was coming, but we though it would be released in February, just in time for Valentine’s Day.  The Pink Sprint Instinct was spotted hanging out at Best Buy’s online storefront last month, and is now available for Sprint smartphone-customers with an extra “X†chromosome. Nice to know they have priced it at just $99.99 after you settle for a 2-year contract and $100 rebate, which makes the $599 Best Buy pricing extremely outrageous.
Instinct was named “Best in Show” in the third annual Emerging Technology (E-Tech) Award competition in April at CTIA Wireless 2008. Instinct was also honored as “Most Innovative Product at CTIA Wireless 2008″ by the editors of LAPTOP, a leading mobile technology magazine. CNET also recognized Instinct as the “Best Cell Phone” in its annual Cream of the Crop CTIA 2008 awards.
The device features the same EVDO Rev. A data access, 3.1 inch WQVGA resolution display with haptic feedback, HTML web browser, media player, GPS support through Sprint Navigation as well as the 2.0 megapixel camera with video recorder and flash, speakerphone, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, microSDHC expansion slot with built-in 2GB card, stylus, and two batteries included along with visual voicemail support as found on the the prior model. The new model adds the prior firmware updates that have enabled Sprint Mobile Email Work Exchange/Notes/Domino calendar integration, and needed software improvements.
