It seems that T-Mobile will be putting the G1 on sale at its 3rd and Market store in San Francisco. As of 6PM today (Tuesday the 21st), you will be able to pick up a G1 in San Fran. There are only the black and bronze models listed at the moment. If you were thinking about ordering online today you may just want to head down to the store to pick up the device in person instead of waiting until some time in early November.
