The Global Certification Forum (GCF) just approved and confirmed HTC’s next Android smartphone, the HTC Velocity 4G – another LTE smartphone from HTC. The Velocity 4G supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE for voice, and UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 900/2100 MHz and LTE at 800/2500 MHz for data. It is said that the HTC Velocity 4G will sport a 5-inch screen with qHD resolution (540 by 960 pixels). Inside it will tick a 1.5GHz dual-core processor of some kind and an 8 mega pixel camera with 1080p HD video recording capabilities, and front facing 2 mega pixel camera. Additionally, it will come with 1620 mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery and 16 GB inbuilt flash memory and be expandable, according to sources.

The phone will be shipped with Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread operating system with the customized HTC Sense 3.5 user interface which is best suited for HTC phones. Telstra targets to launch the 4G phone by January end.
