Tomy Xiao TIP-521is a first of its kind integrated digital camera and printer that allows users to capture, view, and immediately prints their digital images without ink, anywhere. This means you’ll be able to print out photos captured instantly without having to purchase an external digital photo printer. Â It is a 5.0-megapixel CMOS digital camera which is available in three colors- black, magenta and green-marine. It boasts a 2.48-inch LCD display, 39mm equivalent fixed focal length lens and a SDHC/SD slot. The new Takara Tomy XIAO Tip-521 camera is easy to be carried in pocket wherever you go.
The camera with 16MB prints out borderless images directly on special ZINK Paper (880 yen for set of 10) in less than 60 seconds. This ZINK paper is an advanced composite material with embedded yellow, magenta and cyan dye crystals. So this Zink-enable printer will use the heat to activate and colorize these crystals. The xiao (â€small†in Chinese) will be sold in Japan starting November 28 for $320. 20 sheets of printing paper will cost $8. Takara Tomy expects a sales volume of 100,000 units per year in this country. American customers will likely get the xiao TIP-521 in April or May 2009.
