Toshiba today announced the expansion of its Satellite Pro notebook family with the Satellite Pro S300 laptop. There will be a flood of Centrino 2 laptops because of it. In fact, Toshiba is following the Sony VAIO series line up announcement, by unveiling Centrino 2-based laptops - Satellite Pro S300, Tecra M10 and Tecra A10. All three laptops feature Easy Guard Technology, built-in docking capabilities and webcam with business card reader application. The Tecra M10 (14.1″) and A10 (15.4″) feature same technology, but come with a Centrino 2 vPro Processor.
Satellite Pro S300 is a little more unique, it has a 2.4GHz P8600 Core 2 Duo on Centrino 2’s 1066MHz bus and Intel 4500MD integrated graphics powering a 15.4-inch display. It also feature EasyGuard Technolgy, Sleep-and-Charge USB port, and a Webcam with a business card reader. It is for the first time in the Satellite Pro laptop PC lineup using EasyGuard Technology. So, the laptop comes with Components include HDD Protection, a spill-resistant keyboard7, fingerprint reader and Trusted Platform Module (TPM). While, Sleep-and-Charge USB ports, ease users to charge select mobile devices such as, MP3 players, PDAs and cell phones no matter the computer is on, off, in sleep mode or hibernation mode. The Satellite Pro S300 is laptop PC ENERGY STAR® 4.0 compliant and has achieved a Bronze status through the Green Electronics Council’s Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT). The Satellite Pro S300 starts from $1,299.
