Turkcell and Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) are pleased to launch the new BlackBerry® Bold™ smartphone in the Turkish market. Turkcell cements its position as a leading provider of innovative wireless products and services Istanbul, Turkey. Reportedly, the cable network and media major Rogers will support the Blackberry Bold system in Canada. Though the new smartphone is being touted as RIM’s reply to the iPhone, experts say it still remains a device for business users and professionals. The major features of BlackBerry Bold are a half-VGA LCD display with 480×320 resolution, a processor of 624 MHz processor. Also, 1 GB internal storage memory, and camera of 2 megapixel are other features. Other than these the handset has video recording capability, built-in flash and digital zoom.
The powerful communications and multimedia features, stunning display, sophisticated user interface and newly designed full-QWERTY keyboard will make the BlackBerry Bold a ‘must have’ for both business professionals and power users in Turkey. Its lustrous black exterior, satin chrome finished frame and stylish leatherette backplate present a symbol of accomplishment and aspiration that befit its breakthrough capabilitie. The prices of BlackBery Bold for Turkey were not announced by RIM. We do know, however, that the smarpthone can be acquired together with a Turkcell contract agreement for 18 months and an unlimited Internet plan of 99 YTL per month (about 57 Euros or 83.5 USD).
