VERTU, known for its quality handcrafted luxury phones, has finally signed a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) deal with NTT DOCOMO in order to provide its customers with great communication services. In the second quarter of 2009, Vertu will provide a premium membership called, VERTU Club through their partnership with NTT docomo. At the moment it would appear that only ‘Signature’ and ‘Ascent Ti’ series will be available. Vertu Club services will only be available starting the second quarter of 2009.
The company also plans to open its Ginza Flagship Store, its very first store in Japan, on 19th February 2009. Pre-orders of handsets will be taken in the store once the VERTU Club is ready. The prices of the handsets are really something special! obviously the concept of Vertu is definitely different from the mass market handsets produced by Nokia, but let’s hope they do better than their parent company did in Japan.
